Bali is famous for its diversity of underwater fauna. you will float around various kinds of underwater sea creatures. This article will let you know 5 species of fish that you can see When you dive in Bali.


1. Mola - Mola

Mola Mola or also known as Sunfish lives in the deep cold waters. When you dive in Bali especially in Nusa Penida you can see them starting from the end of July to October at a depth of 20 - 40 meters. During the Mola - Mola season (end of July to October) Nusa Penida dive sites will get crowded with the divers wanting to catch a glimpse of Mola - Mola.


2. Manta Ray

Manta Rays can be seen all year round in Nusa Penida, There is a high chance to see Manta Rays in Nusa Penida especially in Manta Point. They swim very slow, it makes them look like they are flying underwater. Don’t swim in front of them as you can scare them and they can swim away, just swim smoothly and slowly just like them.


3. ClownFish

Clownfish or also known as Nemo. Clownfish live and die around anemone. You can encounter around 28 different species of clownfish. Clownfish are aggressive as they want to protect their territory. If clownfish are not eaten by predators they can live up to 30 years.


4. Whitetip Reef Shark

As the name implies, Whitetip reef sharks live around coral reefs.They are unique because they have some different feeding techniques to other sharks, they are slow swimmers, during the day they hide in the under coral or just on the seafloor.


5. Lionfish

Lionfish are slow moving fish that can be dangerous, they have 18 venomous spines that are able to penetrate human skin when it contacts the human skin. Lionfish can lay approximately 2 million eggs per year.
