Amed
Amed is located in Karangasem around 2.5 hours from Sanur. Amed dive sites are suitable for beginner (non certified divers) as it has calm current, the visibility around 15 - 20 m. Amed for its healthy corals and marine creatures, this dive site is also excellent for macro photography lovers, as creatures will be against a black sand background, making colours even contrast.
Amed Wall
Amed Wall is located outside of Jemeluk Bay, it is only 5 minutes away from Amed Beach by traditional boat or jukung. You will gradually make your way along the wall, which plunges to 40 m and is home to pygmy seahorses and stunning gorgonians and corals. The visibility can range up to 30 m
Pyramid
Pyramid is located 5 - 10 minutes from Amed Beach by traditional boat. The highlight of this dive site is the artificial reef shaped in pyramid shapes - which is why it is named. The exceptional macro life and the occasional sandy tortoise are home to mixed tires and metal crates. Different phases of coral recovery are unavoidable but exciting around this Bali dive site. In this site you are able to see titan triggerfish, trumpet fish, blue spotted and kuhl’s stingrays, garden eels, and nudibranch.
Bunutan Beach
In Bunutan beach the current is quite strong. Eels garden covers the sandy bottom when you enter this site. You are able to see huge sponges, blue spotted rays, pink gorgonians, barracudas, moray eels, lionfish, nudibranchs.
West Coast Dive Sites
Menjangan is one of the best natural places in Bali that you have to visit when you are travelling in Bali. Menjangan Island has a lot of underwater flora and fauna. It offers Bali’s best wall dives starting from 10 to 60 m with crystal clear water, stunning visibility, warm water and colourful corals.
Post II
The most popular dive site in Menjangan can be reached by boat entry or shore entry, the dive starts from the beach and descends in a corridor of sand surrounded by the slopes. The walls are covered with corals and if you dive here you are able to see Butterfly fish and Clown fish living along the walls, Parrot fish, Angel fish.
Bat Cave
Near the enterance of a few shallow caves there is a dive site named Bat Cave, it is called Bat Cave as the cave is filled with plenty of resting bats. The depth starts from 4 m to 40 m. The dive site has a steep wall and light current that is nice for deep diving and gentle drift diving. If you are lucky enough you are able to spot whale sharks around the cave.
Garden Eel
Garden Eel Point is located on the western tip of Menjangan Island. It was the first Bali site to receive international fame, and it remains a popular destination for divers of all skill levels. Garden eels can be found in depths ranging from 14 to 20 metres. In this dive site you are able to see White-tip and Black-tip reef sharks, Dogtooth tuna, small schools of barracudas, turtles, and Napoleon wrasse and also Gorgonias of more than 2 m , along with other numerous and colourful hard corals.
