These types of diving can be suitable for different levels of scuba diver. Some need more experience than others, but Bali always has something for everyone. Here are the types of recreational diving in Bali.
Open Water Diving
The most common diving type that you can find here in Bali or even anywhere else. Open water diving means you can dive outside a confined water environment such as the swimming pool. This type of diving is the most accessible for beginners, hence your first diving certification is called the Open Water Diver. Places you can go for beginner Open Water Diving are Tulamben, Amed, and Padangbai.
Drift Diving
Drift diving is a type of scuba diving that lets you go with the flow, or in this case the ocean currents. This way you can enjoy a large part of the dive site without spending much energy for finning and moving around. All that you need to do is to control your buoyancy to enjoy this type of diving to the max. Speaking of buoyancy, this type of diving may not be suitable for beginners as the currents can be a hindrance for beginners. Once you get the hang of it though, Drift Diving can easily be your favorite type of diving. You will feel like flying and be able to relax during your dives. Currents also help the ecosystem, so expect rich corals when drift diving. Places you can go for drift diving is Nusa Penida.
Wreck Diving
A lot of scuba divers seek adventure and mystery, which you can find during wreck diving. Most of the time a shipwreck can become a brand new ecosystem in the ocean, creating more space for corals to grow. Not to mention the stories behind shipwrecks and how they got there in the first place. Making Wreck Diving is one of the best diving activities for you. In Bali, you can find shipwrecks in Tulamben or Padangbai
Deep Diving
Deep Diving is not something that anyone can do, as it adds another layer of danger and wonders. Most of the dive sites here in Bali, the ideal depth, are around 8-20 meters. Diving beyond 18 meters is already considered deep diving. Although people usually went up to 30 meters for it. One instance of deep diving used in Bali is to meet the Sunfish or commonly known as the Mola Mola. These shy creatures tend to live in deep waters, only surfacing when the water gets too cold so they search for the sun. Deep diving can be done anywhere in Bali.
Night Diving
As the name implied, Night Diving is scuba diving during the night. There is a lot more depth in Night Diving even though you are diving in the same location as day dive. The sea became more mysterious. Some animals you can only find at night, because they’re nocturnal. Bring your trusty underwater torch with you to enjoy and nativage through the waters. In Bali you can do night dives in Tulamben, Amed, or Padangbai.
